  The courthouse is located at 200 N. Commerce street and has records from 1898 forward. Some records (1898-1929) have been damaged by floods.

  One of the best resources for the county are the cemetery records compiled by Mr and Mrs J.R. Phipps, 1962-1972. A copy of the two volume set is available here and at the Alabama Department of Archives & History.

  The library also has the Reaper newspaper, original and on microfilm from about 1900 forward.
